Research Interests

Iwan Wyn Rees is a Research Associate on a project which examines the acquisition of Welsh as a second language.  Before joining the School of Welsh, he was awarded an AHRC scholarship which allowed him to investigate into various dialects of Welsh at the Department of Welsh, Aberystwyth University.  He is currently in the final stages of his PhD, which concentrates mainly on phonological variation in two areas of mid-Wales, namely Bro Dysynni (the Tywyn district) and the Harlech area (where he was raised).
