Research Interests
Jonathan Morris is a Research Assistant on a project which examines the acquisition of Welsh as a second language. He is currently completing his PhD which investigates the extent to which home language and community language correspond with phonetic and phonological variation in Welsh and English. The main aim of the research is to show how different groups of young speakers in the context of minority language bilingualism manage variation between their two languages.
Jonathan originally comes from Wrexham, where he worked as a part-time Lecturer in Welsh and a Welsh for Adults Tutor. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at the University of Manchester before moving to Cardiff in October 2012.
