3G Rubber Crumb pitch

Cardiff University Sport is pleased to announce the completion of the new 3G Rubber Crumb pitch project at the Sports Training Village – Talybont.

This Third Generation (3G) facility was constructed by ‘South Wales Sports Grounds’ and consists of a rubber crumb filled long pile synthetic surface laid onto an engineered base and meets both R.F.U and F.I.F.A standards. This pitch also has floodlights and is available to book as either a half pitch rugby/football training facility (56 metres x 61 metres) or alternatively as two separate 7 aside pitches (27 metres x 55 metres). The pitch will not be suitable for hockey. Some of the University Athletic Union clubs to benefit from use of the new facility are Association Football, Rugby, American Football, Lacrosse and Ultimate Frisbee.

The space costs £83.70 per hour for the full pitch and £47.05 per hour for a small sided pitch. Floodlights are included at no additional charge and discounted prices apply to Cardiff University Staff and Students.
