This launch event is to publicise the work of the ESRC funded study “Timescapes: Changing Relationships and Identities through the Lifecourse”. Timescapes is a national network comprising empirical projects investigating the micro-processes and dynamics of change throughout the lifecourse. The network places the multiple dimensions of time at centre stage in its empirical and analytical work, and is developing and showcasing qualitative longitudinal methodology. Cardiff University is conducting one of the empirical projects, the “men as fathers project”, under the direction of Karen Henwood (who also coordinates the methodology and ethics strand of Timescapes work); Mark Finn and Fiona Shirani are the researchers on the “men as fathers” project. Barbara Adams is to give one of the keynote addresses at the afternoon Seminar on “Researching Lives Through Time”. Amanda Coffey is a member of the advisory panel to the Timescapes network and is a consultant to Cardiff’s “men as fathers” project.
