Muslim Childhood
Starts: 13 November 2012

Tuesday 13th November 2012, 8.00pm - 9.00pm, Room 2.01, Humanities Building, Cardiff University (map)
As part of Cardiff University's Creative Minds festival of ideas, Professor Jonathan Scourfield explores how Muslims effectively pass on their faith from generation to generation.
Evidence shows that Muslims are especially good at passing on their faith to the next generation. Researchers from Cardiff School of Social Sciences and the Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK spoke to 60 Muslim families to find out how this process works. This lecture will present their findings, including digital stories made by children about learning to be a Muslim.
This is the first in a double-bill of Creative Minds lectures on the theme of identity.
