Dilemma 3: How should I organise my data in preparation for archiving, sharing and reuse?

This section will detail how data originators should organise their data for subsequent archiving, sharing and reuse. To this end the section will:

• Outline existing data management practices for textual and multimedia data

• Outline current metadata standards for textual and multimedia data

• Discuss alternative metadata initiatives for multimedia data

Where appropriate exemplars are taken from the Methods Trail of our Ethnographic Hypermedia Environment to demonstrate how we tackled data organisation and metadata generation.
