PGCE - How to Apply
To apply for the PGCE (PCET) Full-time and Part-time programmes please follow the five steps below. These steps cover everything you need to know in order to apply.

Interviews for the Full-time programme will usually take place between January and July with some late applicant interview sessions held during August if places remain available. Students are advised to submit applications for the programme at least 1 month before the interview sessions, in order that the admissions team can review these.
Applicants for the Part-time In-service programme will not usually be required to attend an interview.

Please complete online application form; please ensure that you provide detailed information about your education to date, including your GCSE or equivalent qualifications, (A-levels, BTEC, HND’s, degree qualifications) failure to do so could delay consideration of your application.

Complete the ‘Referee Report Form’, one of which should be from an academic referee and the other from any professional teaching experience or voluntary work where possible. Two references must be provided with your application, please note it an applicant’s responsibility to ensure that references are received (a ‘professional’ reference is not compulsory, and your application will be considered with two academic references).

References signed and on headed paper will also be accepted. These can be uploaded by the online document uploading facility, original copies of your reference should also be sent to the PGCE admissions department. Address below:

Include your CV (in addition to the application form). This will enable the Admissions team to learn more about you and your potential to be a teacher. This can be uploaded by the online document uploading facility.
Prepare a photocopy of your degree certificate (if graduated) or any transcripts of results to date if you have not yet graduated and your degree outcome is pending. This can be uploaded by the online document uploading facility.
Prepare a photocopy of your English language qualification certificate at GCSE grade C or equivalent qualification. This can be uploaded by the online document uploading facility.
