Research Profile
Mr Ian Richard Thomas
Qualifications
For over a year I have been working as a quantitative research assistant for Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD) and Shelter Cymru, on a Joseph Rowntree Foundation [JRF] funded project aimed at improving the housing options available to young people. Prior to this I worked as a statistical officer in the Welsh Assembly Government working with Further Education statistics in Wales.
For the past two years I have been undertaking the MSc SSRM part-time at Cardiff University. My masters dissertation was a mixed methods study using sequence analysis and case studies to examine the effects of Higher Education on young people’s housing pathways; with this topic emerging from my work with WISERD and the JRF.
