Biography
My professional background is in policy advice, implementation and development in a number of central UK government departments including the Department for Education and Employment, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Home Office. Before coming to Cardiff to join the ESRC 1+3 programme I qualified as a social worker, specialising in adult mental health.
PhD Topic/ Area
A cross-national comparative study of alternative forms of recognition for same-sex couples, focusing on civil partnership in the United Kingdom and same-sex marriage in Canada and the US State of California.
