PhD Topic / Area

Provisional title: Exploring the role of statutory social workers in suicide prevention.

The aim of this research is to explore the role social workers play in suicide prevention. Previous research has highlighted a lack of research on the subject area and it is largely unclear what role social workers play in suicide prevention.

The research is primarily qualitative in its nature, utilising semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis of mental health case files (from both social services and health).
