Qualifications
A Devonian by birth and upbringing, I studied History and Social Policy at the universities of Warwick and York respectively before commencing a long career as a social worker, social work manager and social work educator. My working life has largely been with children and young people with profound learning difficulties and has included periods working with Oxfordshire County Council, the Children’s Society, Norwood and Action for Children. I have lectured in Disability Studies at Winchester University and in Social Work at the University of Gloucester.
