Qualifications
Qualified as a social worker in 1975 at Plymouth Polytechnic, Maria has worked in a range of settings both in the statutory and voluntary sector in England and Wales. She has been interested in work with children and families with a particular commitment to developing the social work relationship with families and professionals to improve outcomes for children, young people and their parents.
Experience of group work, family therapy and direct work informed her management style from 1981 onwards especially in the context of strategic service development and staff performance/supervision.
