Biography
I was born in South Wales. I moved to Bangor, North Wales in 1994 to study Music at the university. After graduating I decided to enter the teaching profession and completed a PGCE in Music. I was fortunate enough to find a job in a secondary school in Llandudno. After two years I decided to embark on a part-time MEd; this work involved exploring issues such as behaviour management, teacher training and ICT. My dissertation focussed on the introduction of ICT in the classroom and questioned whether online learning could improve pedagogical skills.
I moved back to South Wales in 2002 and still pursued my career as a music teacher. My passion for research in education led me to apply for the EdD course in Cardiff University. I was successful in my application and began studying again in January 2009. After two years I managed to complete the compulsory taught modules and began work on my thesis.
