PhD Area / Topic
This PhD study uses a mixed method approach in order to conduct a process evaluation of a school based Social and Emotional Learning Intervention (SEL). The study aims to postulate the intervention’s causal mechanisms for behavioural change, and examine how these mechanisms are facilitated or inhibited in a school setting. Subsequently, the study will explore how the intervention is integrated, implemented and sustained within various school contexts. Furthermore, this study aims to draw on broader sociological concepts, and considers how adolescents’ construction of gender, notably masculinity, can mediate the lived experience of participating in a SEL intervention.
