Qualifications
- 2003-2007 BScEcon Sociology and Criminology (included a placement year working as a Research Assistant in the Office of the Chief Social Research Officer in the Welsh Assembly Government)
- 2007-2008 MSc Social Science Research Methods (Dissertation: Shifting Relations of Production and Exchange: Immaterial Product in a Digital Society)
- 2008-present 1+3 ESRC funded PhD student (Sociology/Social Policy)
(All qualifications were obtained at Cardiff University)
Research Interests
- Consumer engagement with web-mounted media (particularly mp3 music files).
- Considerations of commodity exchange and changing notions of value in digital spaces.
- Challenges in marshalling intellectual property circulated online.
- Changing relationships and roles of producers and consumers in interacting with digitised, immaterial product.
- Formation of policy designed to foster the creative economy and creative industries.
