For Weber and his supporters it never did. For others it was a matter of strong and forthright, published, negative interpretation of essentially ambivalent results: ("My result could indicate no GW or it could be my lack of skill.") Garwin made the first published unambivalent statements which seemed to trigger a similar response from others.
