Qualifications
First Degree:
September 1972-June 1975: Full-time attendance at Exeter University obtaining an Honours Degree in Biology,
Post Graduate Qualifications:
August 1979-June 1981: Full-time attendance at Exeter University, obtaining a Degree of Bachelor of Philosophy in Social Work, and Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (C.Q.S.W.).
September 1983- Sept 1984: Full-time attendance at University College, Cardiff, to obtain to a Degree of Master of Science in Applied Social Studies, (Post-Qualifying Study approved by the Central Council of Education and Training in Social Work (C.C.E.T.S.W.)).
January 1986-July 1993: Part-time study for a Ph.D. in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies University of Wales, Cardiff.
February 2005 –present: Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Care Council for Wales
Research Interests
Research interests include: older people, and ageing, carers, particularly young carers, interface between health and social care.
I am interested in developing practitioner - focused research, - developing research from practitioner and user / carer questions, and have recently researched in the area of hospital discharge.
