Research Interests

Nick Jewson’s research interests include: learning and training in the workplace, the changing character of the times and spaces of work, ‘non-standard’ forms of employment, emotional & aesthetic labour, equal opportunities policies and programmes, ethnic divisions in employment, urban and community development. In collaboration with Professor Alan Felstead (School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University) and Professor Francis Green (Institute of Education, University of London), he is currently engaged in a research project (funded by the ESRC and UK Commission) investigating the impact of the economic recession on training and skills development in UK workplaces.
