Research Interests
Alan Evans is a Senior Research, Training and Evaluation Consultant based at the Learning and Development Unit, School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University.
Alan Evans is the former National Coordinator of the National Mentoring Scheme, deploying more than 1500 mentors from 30 universities to work with students in more than 180 secondary schools in England.
Alan Evans was the Module Leader for the Mentoring Module of the Learning Coach qualification for First Campus, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Alan Evans is the Independent Evaluator for Catch Up Numeracy in England and for Catch Up Numeracy in Wales.
Alan Evans was the National Coordinator for the Aimhigher Associates Scheme, organised as a major programme by the 42 Aimhigher Area Partnerships in England.
He is a consultant on countering underachievement, especially in boys; school management; performance management; school improvement; mentoring and coaching. He has undertaken consultancy in these fields in Australia, India, New Zealand, Thailand and United States of America and a majority of the 27 countries in the European Union.
