Research
History
Historians at Cardiff research the histories of Britain, Europe and Asia from the medieval period to the twentieth century, offering a chronological range than covers over a 1000 years of history. The Department attracts research funding from a wide range of sources and has an active research culture that is distinguished by its commitment to innovation, scholarship and interdisciplinarity. Its research activities cross boundaries with many other disciplines, including scholars in other humanities disciplines, the biomedical sciences, and the social and behavioural sciences, and informs an active and wide-ranging programme of exciting and knowledge transfer activities.
The Department has a wide range of collaborative links both within Cardiff through cross-School networks and with other institutions, both within Wales, Britain and internationally, and provides the focus for several lively research centres and networks.
