Zakat and Sadaqah Donation

The Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK is funded by Cardiff University, and as with all research centres, funding is limited.

You could greatly help the work of the centre to continue and grow through donations.

Sheikh Dr Abdalla Yasin, an Islamic scholar and member of the Centre's Advisory Committee has declared that the educational aims and objectives of the Centre are such that they qualify for zakat (annual alms) and sadaqah (charity) donations.

"Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy, and those employed to collect (Zakat) and for bringing hearts together (for Islam) and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the wayfarer—an obligation (imposed) by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise." [9:60]

Narrated by AbuHurayrah: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased)". Reported by Muslim.
