First impressions of Archaeology BA at Cardiff University

At home I enjoyed lazy Sunday evenings draped over the sofa watching ancient history documentaries on the discovery channel. It never occurred to me that my pass time could turn into something so much more.

When I got my offer from Cardiff University to study Archaeology BA in place of a combined degree majoring in Philosophy, I accepted. I had done an AS level archaeology course at college and I’d enjoyed it, so I thought I’d give it a chance.

The course looked great and I was cautiously optimistic as I sat down in my first Archaeology lecture. It is no exaggeration to say that within the first ten minutes of that first lecture I was hooked.

"Now every lecture is like a discovery channel documentary. I can’t describe my childish glee towards archaeology in any other way then when I tell you that I constantly feel like a kid in a sweetshop."
