History and Society in Ancient Egypt - 40 credits (HST520)
This module examines problems and priorities in the study of Egyptian archaeology, looking at the development of the discipline and its methods in relation to particular, period-specific, areas of study. Assuming that students have some background in the subject they will be allowed to pick one or two chronological periods of particular interest to them and the topics listed above will then be examined within that framework. This will provide an overview of the history and society of that period in some depth.
