Instrumental Analysis in Archaeology and Conservation - 40 credits (HST340)

This module builds on and expands students' existing knowledge of instrumental analysis techniques. Students focus on the application of these methods in conservation science and artefact analysis, with a look at recent applications and new developments. Analytical techniques commonly used in conservation science are demonstrated and students learn common specimen preparation techniques, carry out small projects and prepare an analytical report. Teaching is via tutorials, demonstrations and supervised practical.
