Speaking Archaeology - 10 credits (HST302)
In this module students learn how to make effective, clear and convincing oral presentations of archaeological material. Speaking Archaeology consists of two main elements. In the first, students practice preparing and making short oral presentations. In the second, they learn how to design MS Powerpoint presentations. Assessment is by a 20 minute oral presentation using Powerpoint. Major topics studied: openings, transitions and conclusions; powerful language (spoken and body); visual aids; question and answer sessions; speaking style; using MS Powerpoint.
