About Ancient History

Ancient History at Cardiff encompasses the Greek and Roman worlds from Archaic Greece through to Late Antiquity. Our teaching and research interests include both political and social history; particular strengths include warfare, gender and sexuality, religion, ancient medicine, and the interpretation of epigraphic and archaeological evidence. In both teaching and research our expertise is complemented and extended by collaboration with our colleagues in Classical Archaeology, Medieval History and Religious Studies.
Undergraduate
We offer a range of undergraduate degree programmes in Ancient History, including two Integrated Single Honours degrees that combine Ancient History with Archaeology or Medieval History.
