These include the very positive outcomes of independent Government sponsored research assessments and the success of our researchers in winning competitive research grants and investments of around one hundred million pounds a year. Of greatest importance is the many advances based on Cardiff University research and the benefits which society and individuals gain from them.
Independent panels of experts assess the quality of research in UK universities in the Research Assessment Exercise. The 2008 Assessment provides strong evidence of Cardiff's status as one of Britain's leading research intensive universities.
