This page gives you information about occasional and non-degree admissions at Cardiff University.

The University gives a range of opportunities if you wish to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level which does not lead to a formal qualification from the University.  If you study in this way, you will be classified as an occasional  studies student.

What does ‘Occasional Studies’ mean?
The University has a range of opportunities for study at undergraduate or postgraduate level for students who want to
• undertake an individual module or modules to gain credits,
• undertake research with us on a short term basis.
If you study in this way, you will be classified as an occasional studies student. Fees are charged based on the credits taken.  Undertaking occasional studies does not lead to a formal qualification from the University.
