Student Enterprise offers impartial information and guidance to all Cardiff University students and recent graduates on how to take an idea forward and how to take an existing business or social enterprise to the next level. Find out about opportunities for funding, how to access business resources and find a business mentor, and what facilities are available at Cardiff University to support your venture.
If you are an international graduate of Cardiff University you may be able to apply for a one year TIER 1 (GRADUATE ENTREPRENEUR) VISA through a new scheme set up by the UK Border Agency (UKBA). To apply, you will need an endorsement from the University.
Each year the University can select a small number of graduates for whom they are willing to provide an endorsement to the UK Border Agency. To be eligible you would need to be a graduate who is setting up a business in the UK and who has a viable and innovative business proposal.

Got a bright idea for a business or a social enterprise?
SPARK supports enterprising ideas at Cardiff University. If you have an idea for a Business or a Social Enterprise (i.e. not for profit) then you could win up to £1000 to help to make your bright idea a reality. All you need to do is complete the application form and put your ideas onto paper!
Develop practical business skills which you can use to start a new venture or simply learn more about how businesses work to impress a potential employer. Attend 6 different workshops and receive a Certificate of Professional Development in Business and Enterprise. Workshops include Intro to self employment, Know your market and competitors, Developing a marketing strategy, Costing and pricing and Financial planning.
Do you have business idea but are struggling to find the finance to get it off the ground or need additional funds to expand your current operation? Enterprise Bursaries provide the opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain a financial boost to their new business or social enterprise.
