What Is Research Ethics?

Academic research, across all disciplines, can raise challenging social, legal and ethical issues.  For any research project, of primary concern is the safety and protection of the humans and/or animals involved in the study.

The research community recognises the need for obtaining informed consent for human participation, and for conducting comprehensive risk-benefit analyses of proposed research projects, and of peer review.
