The University Strategy and Supporting Strategies
The University Strategy, which builds on the University's achievements, sets out the medium-term direction of the University in line with its mission. It provides the overarching framework for the formulation and assessment of all other plans such as those produced for individual schools, the University's administration, estate and information services etc. which, in turn, inform the formulation of the overall University Strategy.
REGIONAL STRATEGY FOR SOUTH EAST WALES 2011/12 TO 2013/14
Higher education contributes substantially to the South East Wales Region and to the whole of Wales – economically, socially and culturally. This Strategy takes forward the directly-funded higher education providers’ (Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, the University of Glamorgan, the University of Wales Newport, Bridgend College and the Open University in Wales) commitment to generating further opportunities for learners and employers within the South East Region and the whole of Wales. The Strategy was developed in response to the Welsh Government’s expectation that a ‘regional dimension to the planning and delivery of higher education’ would be developed. The Strategy covers the identification of key progression routes and new higher education provision required; opportunities for more co-ordinated widening access activities and joint regional work with employers; and, consideration of collaborative developments.
