Sam Salek made honorary member of the Cardiff Medical Society
6 June 2011

Professor Sam Salek has been made an Honorary Member of the Cardiff Medical Society. This was unanimously voted at their recent AGM.
The society was founded in 1871, when the population of Cardiff was 39,5000. The founding members were 17 medical men who met at Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Infirmary. It was established to encourage the advancement of medical knowledge and to promote the welfare of the medical profession.
It is a rare honour for a person outside of the medical profession to be admitted to membership in this way and acknowledges Profesor Salek's long association with the profession locally, in particular with the Depoartment of Dermatology in the Medical School..
