Two Pharmacy Final year students complete the Cardiff Half-Marathon for the Parkinson Disease Society
20 October 2010

Beth Stevenson and Helen Jarvis ran the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday in an excellent time of 2h25.
Through this they have raised over £600 for Parkinson's UK. They were inspired by Alun Morgan, who is a Parkinson's patient who talks to the 3rd years about his experience with the disease. As a consequence of his talk last March, they committed themselves to the challenge but only started training at that stage.
They were joined on the day by Dr Emma Lane , a lecturer in the School, who bettered her previous year's run in a time of 2hr 2minutes. She raised over £400 for the same charity, bringing the School's total to over £1000 - a very fine effort.
The Head of School, Professor Gary Baxter, has congratulated both students and suggested that all three runners were great representatives of the School.
