Applications of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Beyond

Panagiotis Manesiotis graduated from the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000. He then joined the group of Prof B. Sellergren at the University of Dortmund, in Germany as a post-graduate student, working on the development of MIPs targeting compounds of biological interest. Upon award of his PhD in 2005, he was appointed as Post-Doctoral researcher at the University of Strathclyde in the group of Prof David C. Sherrington and Prof Peter A.G. Cormack. Between 2010-2012 he was a Senior Researcher at the Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre, at the Waterford Institute of Technology, in Ireland. He joined the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Queen's University in Belfast in January 2013 as Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry. His main research interests include development of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for separations, sensing and catalysis, supramolecular chemistry and synthetic receptors.
