"Breaking down barriers to effective tumour immunity”
Awen Gallimore is a Wellcome Trust funded Reader in Immunology at the Institute of Infection and Immunity, having first arrived in Cardiff in 2003. Prior to that she gained a DPhil in Oxford in 1995 working on correlates of anti-viral immunity. From Oxford, Dr Gallimore obtained a Wellcome Trust travelling fellowship and spent three years as a post-doc in Rolf Zinkernagel's lab in Zurich. In 1999, she moved back to Oxford and gained a Wellcome Trust career development fellowship to work on correlates of tumour immunity. This work led to an MRC senior fellowship and a move to Cardiff in 2003.
