Module PHT406 - 20 credits
Medicines Management
Aims: To enable the student to develop and implement management systems through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals.

Medicines Management and the Cardiovascular System
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies for patients at risk or suffering from cardiovascular diseases, through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals.
Module PHT403 - 10 credits
Medicines Management and Respiratory Disorders
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies for respiratory disorders, through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals.
Module PHT407 - 10 credits
Medicines Management and Gastrointestinal Disorders
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies for given gastro-intestinal disorders through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals.
Module PHT501 - 20 credits
Medicines Management and the Endocrine System
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies at risk or suffering from diabetes, and thyroid disorders, through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals
Module PHT502 - 20 credits
Public Health in Community Pharmacy
Aims: To enable the student to offer a pro-active approach to public health based on current evidence,to meet local and national government healthcare strategies and targets.
Module PHT505 - 10 credits
Management and Treatment of Skin Disorders
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies for patients with skin disorders
Module PHT509 - 10 credits
Medicines Management and the Central Nervous System (CNS)
Aims: To enable the student to offer a patient focussed quality service, providing management of prescribed drug therapies for patients with mental health disorders, through a partnership between the patient and health care professionals.
MSc - 60 credits
Research Modules (Protocol design and dissertation)
Aims: To provide a basic understanding of each component involved in carrying out a research project and to utilise this knowledge in completing an MSc dissertation.
Stand-alone modules
This diploma has been developed for pharmacists practising in community and primary care throughout the UK. However, pharmacists practising in different areas, or other healthcare professionals, who identify a module that meets their continual professional development, will be considered for eligibility to take a free-standing module. The programme is structured so that students can improve their therapeutic knowledge and understanding for a given topic whilst developing new skills within the frame work of an individual model. Each module is rated as a single or double module and awarded a number of credits as indicated above.The credit rating system is recognised by other universities. Prospective students can elect to register for the Diploma, Certificate or for an individual module.
