STRESS - WHERE TO SEEK INFORMATION AND ADVICE WITHIN CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Cardiff University has resources within specialist departments as well as dedicated areas with regards to stress. Below is a list of areas that staff can access to find information, advice and support for stress.
Cardiff University has a dedicated website for stress. The website is security password controlled and completely confidential. It contains a vast amount of information including the ability to seek further assistance from other resources such as staff counselling services and occupational health. Cardiff University’s counselling service provides pro-active advice, guidance and training with regards to stress. The staff counselling service offers professional counselling therapy and also produce bespoke training and workshops on many work-related issues such as Stress Management, Life/Work Balance, Working Relationships, Change Management etc.

Cardiff University’s Occupational Health Service provides pro-active advice and guidance to all stakeholders within the University whether they are student, staff or managers on all aspects of health including stress. They work in close contact with colleagues both within the University such as the counselling service or external to the University such as General Practice providers.

Cardiff University’s Governance and Compliance Division has established a network of dignity advisors within the University as part of the University’s Dignity at Work and Study Policy. The ten Dignity Advisers are members of staff who have been trained to offer confidential, impartial, one-to-one advice and support to people having issues with harassment or bullying. They will help staff feel supported, gain a better understanding of their rights and options and prepare an action plan.
