Few gifts keep on giving once the festive season has come to an end, so this year Cardiff University’s Centre for Lifelong Learning has devised a unique present idea which can be mixed and matched to suit any taste.
The Centre, the largest higher education provider of part-time courses for adults in Wales, is offering people the chance to ‘Give the Gift of Learning’ this Christmas through a voucher scheme.
Redeemable against any of the courses run across the 100 venues in southeast Wales, there are more than 700 courses to choose from ranging from business and management, to foreign languages, edible gardening and folklore.
Each ‘Gift of Learning’, available from the Centre on Senghenydd Road, comes with its own specially-commissioned greeting card. Vouchers for £10, £20 or £50 can be purchased and are redeemable against any course running in 2009.
This is the first year the Centre has introduced a voucher scheme. The Centre hopes to provide an inspired gift choice for people looking for something different to give this Christmas, as well as a unique way to help friend or family learn new skills, gain new qualifications or explore something that has always fascinated them.
A number of leading academics deliver courses at the Centre for Lifelong Learning. Further details of these courses, a full list of all other adult learners courses and more information about the Give the Gift of Learning voucher scheme can be found at: www.cardiff.ac.uk/learn/vouchers.
