The Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, was welcomed by the University and the Students’ Union as he launched a campaign for students travelling abroad.
Mr Miliband was greeted by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Grant, who discussed the University’s international activities with the Foreign Secretary.
Dr Grant introduced the minister to Students’ Union President Andy Button-Stephens and to Charlie Smith, who is Cardiff’s Student Ambassador for the Foreign Office’s Know Before You Go Campaign.
Mr Miliband then entered the Students’ Union to launch this year’s Know Before You Go Campaign, which aims to inform students and other travellers about how to stay safe abroad before they set out. He chatted to the crowd of students at the launch before moving on to conduct interviews with Cardiff’s student media.
