Professor Len Nokes, from the School of Engineering, has worked as Cardiff City’s Team Doctor for the last 22 years, responsible for players’ medicals, scans, tests, assessments and all other medical matters.
Professor Nokes shared some of his experiences working at the heart of Cardiff City Football Club since 1991, from his beginnings as the crowd doctor at Ninian Park, to watching Joe Ledley scoring at Wembley.
Listen to Professor Nokes discuss how his research at Cardiff University is integral to his work at the Championship winning side, and how he thinks that Cardiff City’s promotion will create a ‘feel-good factor’ for the city as it is exposed to billions of new people via Premier League television coverage.
