Composition Workshops and Seminars
The School of Music at Cardiff University has for many years enriched the
experience of its final-year undergraduate and postgraduate composition
students (MMus and PhD) by engaging visiting
composers, professional performers and ensembles to carry out composition
workshops and seminars. The workshops are carefully linked in with public
concerts given by these visiting artists in the University Concert Hall
at the School. Students therefore gain an unmatched experience of working
with practitioners in realising their compositional ideas in a constructive
and friendly atmosphere.
The programme has developed into one of the most
active and distinguished anywhere in the UK either in universities or in
academies and colleges of music.
