Liz Lane has been an Associate Lecturer at the School of Music since gaining a PhD in Composition in 2009, and is a graduate of Cardiff University. She also lectures at the University of the West of England and is an Associate Lecturer with the Open University.
Her compositions have been widely played throughout the UK and abroad by performers including the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Andrew Kennedy, Andrew Staples, Colin Booth, Carducci Quartet, London Children’s Ballet, Symphonic Brass of the RAF, Wells Cathedral Voluntary Choir, Chinook Winds (Seattle) and Marlene Ford (USA) and at venues including the Peacock Theatre London, Fairfield Halls Croydon, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, USA and Wales Millennium Centre.
Current and future commissions include: Singing Histories, a cross artform, cross-border initiative involving professional musicians, a poet and children from five primary schools for the Presteigne Festival and a community choir piece for the Cheltenham Festival.
