Vaughan Jones, the son of J. H. Jones of Burry
Port, Llanelli, was visiting the University of Wales during its centenary celebrations
and received an honorary doctorate. In 1999, he was made an Honorary Professor
at the School of Mathematics,
University of Wales,
Cardiff.
