Undergraduate Students
Information for Year One Students
Prior to arrival in Cardiff, new students are invited to complete Online Enrolment to confirm address details and payment of tuition fees. It is requested that new students do not attempt to complete the Module Selection process at the conclusion of Online Enrolment, since we wish to give you advice on the module choices you have once you have arrived in Cardiff at the end of September.
Year One Mathematics students are expected to attend the following events during enrolment week:
- Tuesday 25th September at 14:00 in Room E/0.15: Introductory Talk
- Wednesday 26th September (afternoon): School Enrolment (timetable to be issued during the Introductory Talk on 25th September)
- Thursday 27th September at 14:00: Meet your Personal Tutor Session
- Thursday 27th September at 14:30 in Room E/0.15: Mathematics Induction Programme (part 1)
- Friday 28th September at 10:30 in Room E/0.15: Mathematics Induction Programme (part 2) (Some Joint Honours students might not be able to attend this session due to Induction activities in your other department.)
Students who are starting one of our BA Joint Honours degree schemes with a Humanities subject will also need to read the Humanities Enrolment Information to find out details of events you are also expected to attend in your Humanities school. Similary students starting on one of our BSc Joint Honours degree schemes should read enrolment information provided by Cardiff School of Physics and Astronomy or Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics as appropriate.
Information for Year Two Students
All Year Two Mathematics students are required to attend a Year Two Briefing Session on Thursday 27th September at 11:00 in Room E/0.15. At this session we will be providing students with important information and documentation regarding your Year Two studies.
Information for Year Three Students
All Year Three Mathematics students are required to attend a Year Three Briefing Session on Wednesday 26th September at 11:00 in Room E/0.15. At this session we will be providing students with important information and documentation regarding your Year Three studies.
Information for Year Four (MMath) Students
All Year Four (MMath) students are required to attend a Year Four Briefing Session on Wednesday 26th Septemeber at 10:00 in Room M/0.37. At this session we will be providing students with important information and documentation regarding your Year Four Studies.
Information for Exchange/Erasmus Students
All Exchange/Erasmus students wishing to study Mathematics modules are asked to come to Room M/0.37 in the School of Mathematics, Senghennydd Road on Thursday 27th September at 9.30 am. This meeting will be an opportunity for you to meet with school staff to discuss and select the Mathematics modules you will be studying whilst here in Cardiff.
Postgraduate Students
Induction for new MSc Students
An induction programme for students commencing our MSc degree schemes Operational Research and Applied Statistics and Operational Research, Applied Statistics and Risk will take place on Tuesday 25th (10am - 6pm) and Thursday 27th September (10am - 5.30pm). Students should come to Lecture Room M/0.40 on the Ground Floor of the Mathematics Institute for the first induction session at 10am on Tuesday 25th September. A buffet lunch will be provided for students on the Tuesday, which will provide an opportunity for you to meet members of School Staff.

Induction for new Postgraduate Research Students
All new Postgraduate Research Students are asked to attend our Postgraduate Research Student Induction Session to be held on Monday 1st October at 11:10 in Room M/0.34).
Enrolment for continuing Postgraduate Research Students
Continuing Postgraduate Research students only need to complete online enrolment. There will be no requirement to attend any enrolment event in the School.
