Product Development and Marketing Manager
£20,000-27,000 plus £4,000 training and development budget
DURATION: Fixed-term contract for 24 months
THE KTP ASSOCIATE: Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a Government-supported initiative, enabling graduates/post graduates to manage strategic projects in a partnership with universities and industry. The current role as KTP Associate is to manage a high profile, strategic project for a company, whilst being supported by Cardiff University. The role of the Associate is to provide the bridge between the company and the University to transfer knowledge and skills
THE JOB/ROLE: This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or post graduate to work on a Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) as an Associate, developing and embedding product development capability and integrating associated business systems within the company. The candidate will be employed by Cardiff University but will be mostly located at the company in Pontypool.
THE COMPANY: The candidate will have a close association with Cardiff University Business School, but will be based at Brick Fabrication Limited, Pontypool. Brick Fabrication Ltd is a leading manufacturer of prefabricated building products such as chimneys and brick arches, for the UK House Building industry, supplying the house building and construction industries, as well as self builders and the building trade. THE CANDIDATE: Educated to degree level or higher with a minimum of a 2.1 in Business Management, Engineering or related areas (i.e. Operations, Strategic Supply Chain, Marketing), with 2-5 years industry experience. Desirable candidates will have an MSc in Business and Management, MSc in Engineering or a Master in Business Administration (MBA). The candidate will have proven interest in product development and previous awareness and/or experience with business system integration, in particular marketing/sales and operation functions. The candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an inquisitive, problem solving mind. The candidate will be able to work independently and proactively, where leadership qualities will be required and developed.
SALARY AND PACKAGE: The starting salary will be between £20,000 and £27,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The rewards package includes an additional personal training and development budget, and in addition to this, the opportunity to achieve an M.Phil. with Cardiff University: http://business.cardiff.ac.uk/courses
