Information Services Annual Report
11 November 2013
Demonstrating the variety, scale and impact of Information Services at Cardiff University, the new Information Services Annual Report has now been launched.
The Report details some of the developments and new services introduced by Information Services during the 2012-13 academic year, supporting and enabling the University community.
"From an IT perspective, the Information Services Annual Report truly highlights the breadth and pervasiveness of IT to the University community, and the importance of all our services to the experience that students, staff, researchers, and visitors have of the wider University," said Eileen Brandreth, Director of University IT.
"The Report also demonstrates the importance of collaboration in providing these services – with our fellow-Information Services colleagues, across the wider University and the sector as a whole. Successful collaboration is key to the successful delivery of all our services," continued Eileen.
Janet Peters, Director of University Libraries, commented: "For the libraries, I think one of the key elements illustrated in the Report is how we're continuing to embrace the opportunities that new technologies bring, whilst extending access to our physical locations.
"Technology enables us to present our information and library resources in a modern and easily accessible way," added Janet. "Today's students and researchers can access a wealth of knowledge through their mobile phone – information which ten years ago would only have been accessible in physical library locations."
"On behalf of all the Information Services Directors, we hope you enjoy reading our Annual Report," concluded Janet.
As part of Information Services' commitment to sustainability, the Annual Report is available online.
