My role is to lead the strategic development of information literacy (IL) across the University community. I chair INSRV's Information Literacy Group, which supports the implementation of the IL strategy and action plan, and devises and carries out IL projects. These have included the creation of the Handbook for IL Teaching, which supports subject librarians in their teaching role, and the Information Literacy Resource Bank of bite-sized teaching resources for library and academic staff to integrate into their handouts, slides or eLearning materials.  Both the Handbook and the Resource Bank are shared beyond the university.

I manage the Welsh Information Literacy Project, a cross-sectoral project funded by CyMAL, to promote and enhance information literacy in Wales.  From January to June 2011 I'm also working with Curtis+Cartwright on a study of the role and perception of PhD supervisors in research students' information literacy development, for RIN.

From 1-3pm each day, you'll find me in the Legal Practice Library as subject librarian for the Centre for Professional Legal Studies.

Outside the University, I am a committee member of the CILIP information literacy group and am Secretary to the SCONUL Working Group on Information Literacy. I am Managing Editor of the Journal of Information Literacy.
