Purchasing software and computers
PCs and Apple Macs can be bought through suppliers with which the University has agreed purchasing agreements. Also, the IT Shop provides IT equipment with a range of payment options.
A wide range of computer supplies including disks, printer cartridges, software and stationery are also available for purchase from Information Services.
Software and computer consumables
A wide range of computer supplies including disks, ethernet cards, printer cartridges and software are available from reception in Information Services 40-41 Park Place and from the Health Library. Location information is available on the Information Services locations web page.
Stationery and floppy disks are also available from outlets and the libraries.

Please note: when purchasing software, you will need to show your University ID card and complete the Copyright Software and Datasets form below, detailing the make, model and serial number of your computer.

The University has purchasing agreements with the following approved suppliers:

Apple suppliers - Apple Computer
All computers purchased by Cardiff University academic schools and support divisions are normally expected to be made from these approved suppliers.
Contract prices are also available to Cardiff University staff and students for private purchases.
RM
RM offers Cardiff University a minimum of 12% discount, with additional discounts on recommended specifications. Details of specifications and prices can be found on the RM web site. Prices include a 3 year on-site warranty (excluding notebooks).
Additional discounts are available for bulk purchases, i.e. quantities over 25. Installation, testing and removal of packaging services are available for a minimal additional cost.
RM aims to deliver your goods within 10 working days of receiving an order.
An RM Engineer visits the University every working day. If you would like an engineer to call, please make your request to insrvConnect. In normal circumstances calls received by 12:00 noon will be attended to on the next working day.

Apple Computer
Apple Computer has been selected as the sole supplier for Apple equipment to Higher Education in the UK as a result of an extensive tendering and negotiation process. The original 3 year agreement, which began in October 2002, has been extended to September 2011 and will include additional benefits to purchasers.
