Ty Dewi Sant VHS / DVD Library
Following the move of the Learning Resource Centre into the new Cochrane Building, the VHS / DVD Library currently held the TDS will be integrated into the main Cardiff University library. This will allow a larger number of people to access the resource, and also provide a secure form of loaning titles. It is likely that all titles will be housed within the new library in the Cochrane Building.
Papershow available from LRC
Write from wherever you like
Be free to write, from anywhere in the classroom, and project your written notes straight on to the screen (up to 10 metres from your computer).
You can face your pupils and keep permanent eye contact with them. Contact the LRC for a demonstration.
Capture your lectures and make them available on-line
Record your face (optional), audio and presentation and make it available through Learning Central. A great tool for distance learning, revision or just recapping. This facility is currently only available when booking the lecture theatre in the New Lecture Theatre Building (next to Ty Dewi Sant), to find out more contact the LRC.
Videoconferencing gets a face lift
The VC studio in TDS has recently had a make-over. It now has superb HD quality cameras, high quality LCD screens and smart colour co-ordinated chairs. For a demonstration of the technology and/or to find out how videoconferencing can help you make better use of your time whilst cutting down on your carbon foot print contact the LRC.
TurningPoint student response system
The LRC has 400 TurningPoint handsets that can be used as a whole or broken down into batches of 40. It is an excellent tool for gathering data and producing reports.
