Dental Illustration Unit

The Unit provides graphic, photographic and presentation services to the School of Dentistry, the Dental Services Group (Cardiff and Vale University Health Board) and outside agencies and individuals for clinical, teaching and research purposes.

The Unit is located on the ground floor of the Dental School (Room 53).

  • Lamination, comb and thermal binding, and other mounting
  • Help and advice on design and software use including provision of various templates

Presentation services

Presentation Services are a part of the Media Resources Centre. Presentation Services provide audiovisual support for the School of Medicine and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board staff and students using the lecture theatres, seminar rooms and other teaching areas.

Lecture theatres:

  • Two lecture theatres:
    Large lecture theatre (Capacity: 135)
    Small lecture theatre (Capacity: 112)
  • Data projection:
    Presentations via lecture theatre PC or speaker's laptop
  • Video projection:
    DVD, VHS PAL, S-VHS and NTSC formats can be viewed
  • Slide projection:
    Single or dual carousel slide projectors
  • Overhead projection (OHP):
    Document reader and Overhead projection
  • Videoconferencing:
    Large lecture theatre equipped with ISDN6 lines (requires booking) and IP connections (large and small lecture theatres)
  • Network points:
    Academic Network and internet access available

Seminar Rooms:

  • Data projection:
    Presentations via seminar room PC or speaker's laptop
  • Video projection:
    DVD, VHS PAL, S-VHS and NTSC formats can be viewed
